FSNAU Launches Market Data Export Functionality in its web-based Integrated Database System (IDS)

Issued: February 9, 2012

FSNAU has updated the online IDS in order to provide you with the raw market data for all commodities/products that we monitor. This new feature allows you to export all or a range of data automatically.

To access this feature, simply follow the steps below:-

  1. Log on to the IDS (http://www.fsnau.org/ids/) using the credentials you registered. If you have forgotten your password, go to http://www.fsnau.org/ids/password.php to retrieve/reset your password. Please note that you will be asked to provide the email address that you registered with. If you have forgotten the email address that you used, kindly write back to us on info@fsnau.org with your full names and we will reset the password for you. If you are not a registered IDS user, please to to http://www.fsnau.org/ids/register.php to register.
  2. From the dashboard, click on the ‘Data Export icon’.

  3. In the page that follows, set your criteria of the data you wish to retrieve (see Fig.2 below). Note that the data is presented in MS Excel format.

  4. Here there are two options:-
    a) Export All Market Data by Month/Year – with this option, you retrieve data for only a single month for a given year. This data export process is marginally faster.
    b) Export Market Data by Month for a Given Range of Years – this option allows you to retrieve all market data for a given range of years. The more years you select, the more time it will take for the system to return results.
  5. Click on the Fetch Data button to retrieve the data based on your criteria. As indicated, the process may take a while depending on how big a dataset you wish to retrieve.
  6. Save the dataset to your computer and open with MS Excel.

For a given range of years, we suggest that you export a smaller number of years and then combine the datasets later on in one master Excel sheet. This will reduce the amount of time the system takes to generate the data as well as reduce the load on the web server.

We will keep you updated on new features as and when they become available.
